Health and Safety FAQ

Safety protocol will follow NDIA/WID’s meeting guidelines which will meet or exceed state guidelines. 

Will proof of vaccination be required?
At present, all attendees will be required to provide proof of full vaccination OR proof of a negative COVID-19 test within three (3) days prior to badge pick-up. Details for securely providing vaccination or negative test documentation will be provided shortly. NOTE: COVID testing is the financial responsibility of the attendee.

What is the conference mask policy?

At this time, the University of Notre Dame is requiring all adults, regardless of vaccination, to wear masks indoorsWID will have a limited supply of face masks available but recommend bringing your own for comfort and convenience. Attendees should keep their masks conservative, professional, and in keeping with dignity and respect. Face coverings with demeaning or derogatory logos, profanity, offensive script or imagery, or political dissent are not authorized. WID staff will wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

I am a student traveling from another university or an event sponsor/exhibitor. What protocols can I expect to see that the Morris Inn?

Will WID require attendees to sign a conference waiver to attend the conference?

Yes, all registrants are required to sign the COVID-19 waiver prior during the online registration process.

Will social distancing be implemented?

Additional distance between all individuals will be implemented in meeting rooms and social events. Please refrain from handshakes and embracing as an extra precaution as well as following the CDC’s guidelines. Consider using digital alternatives to share contact information. Ample hand sanitizer stations will be available; please wash your hands often, cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or elbow, and stay home if you are sick. 

How will meeting rooms be set up?

Attendees can expect to find socially distanced seating with one entrance and one exit to each room, as well as increased cleaning protocols.  

When can I pick up my conference badge?

Registration badges will be distributed at low touch stations utilizing pick-up time slots or other means to effectively limit crowds during the designated registration hours. Clearly marked lines with social distancing decals will also be set up to direct one-way traffic flow.

Will conference attendance be limited to a certain capacity?

WID is following—and will remain in compliance with—all city, state, and federal guidelines. If the direction from federal, state, or local official public health authorities’ changes, WID will adhere to the new guidance. Current local guidance allows for full capacities indoors with the proof of vaccination and required face masks.

How will food be served?

Food and beverages will be safely packaged or distributed for minimal contact and will be managed by trained staff wearing proper PPE. Seating will be physically distanced and outside when possible. Grab and go food selections will be available. WID has implemented pre-packaged food options to minimize touch points.

Women In Defense (WID), is a National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Affiliate and therefore will be following all NDIA protocols. NDIA is continually monitoring the current novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak situation and will communicate any specific updates via NDIA.org/Coronavirus, where you can find a list of affected meetings, conferences, and events.

We are committed to following on-site safety measures and enhanced cleaning guidelines, precautions, and procedures as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). We are following—and will remain in compliance with—all city, state, and federal guidelines. If the direction from federal, state, or local official public health authorities changes, we will adhere to the new guidance, act upon it immediately, and update everyone. We are fully prepared to adjust our plans as needed.

  • No sharing pens or other items
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Cover your cough or sneeze into a tissue; throw the tissue in the trash
  • Travel with hand sanitizer and wipes
  • Avoid handshaking
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; if soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
