Women Inspired to SErve (WISE) Concept Overview
The Women Inspired to SErve (WISE) series seeks to increase the participation and involvement of women and diverse voices in the academic and professional world of international security. Focused on undergraduate and graduate students studying national and global security, the WISE series fosters a dynamic community of women preparing to serve in the international security arena by featuring an extensive range of career paths, professional development, and networking opportunities throughout government, industry, and academia. This conference inspires and supports the next generation of women leaders through tailored workshops, keynote speakers, panel sessions, and group discussions.
Partner Organizations
The Notre Dame International Security Center
Established in 2008, The Notre Dame International Security Center (NDISC) provides a forum where leading scholars in national security studies from Notre Dame and elsewhere come together to explore some of the most pressing issues in national security policy. The center, led by Professor Michael Desch, provides a bridge between Notre Dame and the broader National Security community, including the Pentagon and other government organizations. Visit ndisc.nd.edu/about for more information.
Women In Defense
Women In Defense (WID) strengthens the defense industrial base and workforce by promoting programming that creates and enhances opportunities for women, increasing diversity within the defense community. WID’s twofold mission focuses on empowering women currently working in defense and encouraging talented young women to pursue careers in national security. Membership is open to women and men whose primary professional activities impact the national security of the United States and its partners and allies. WID’s 20 Chapters include members from defense companies; all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces; government; academia; think tanks; associations; and professional services. Active military and government employees receive complimentary membership. Visit WomenInDefense.net for more information.
NDIA has a policy of strict compliance with federal and state antitrust laws. The antitrust laws prohibit competitors from engaging in actions that could result in an unreasonable restraint of trade. Consequently, NDIA members must avoid discussing certain topics when they are together – both at formal association membership, board, committee, and other meetings and in informal contacts with other industry members: prices, fees, rates, profit margins, or other terms or conditions of sale (including allowances, credit terms, and warranties); allocation of markets or customers or division of territories; or refusals to deal with or boycotts of suppliers, customers or other third parties, or topics that may lead participants not to deal with a particular supplier, customer or third party.
