The Future is Flexible: Negotiating and Managing Flexibility in the Workplace after COVID-19

One year ago, the rapid and unprecedented changes brought on by Covid-19 forced companies to rapidly send their employees home to work. As a result, millions experienced the benefits of remote working—such as nonexistent commute times and greater productivity. Thousands of companies discovered lower operational costs and a larger pool of global job applicants. As they are planning to bring employees back, many forward-looking companies expect to permanently incorporate remote days to their employees’ work-week as a way to retain employees and attract new talent.

But virtual work has it challenges. Employees can feel lost, isolated and out of sync with their peers and managers— how do you build trust, maintain connections and avoid burn out? Managers want to keep their teams motivated, provide useful digital tools, and keep employees productive.

During this virtual panel, managers and professionals alike will learn from industry leaders how to navigate the challenges of managing flexible work as well as negotiating and succeeding with a flexible schedule.

Moderator:

  • Jennifer Voss - Managing Director, Flex Professionals

Panelists include:

  • Ellen Ferraro - Vice President, Raytheon
  • Gina Benvenuto - Segment COVID-19 HR Lead, L3 Harris
  • Purvi Booth - Deputy Director, Raytheon
  • Karen Kelly - Project Manager, Office of Work/Life, Harvard University

These dynamic leaders will share how companies can shape policy and practices to create successful hybrid work environments. Panelists will also offer tips for individuals to keep and negotiate flexible work schedules, together with how to succeed while working remotely.
