Bio

Kim Bode doesn’t sit still. When she sees something wrong, she fixes it. That’s why she founded 8THIRTYFOUR Integrated Communications almost 20 years ago, because she was tired of agencies that cared more about billable hours than actual results and building relationships.

She brings that same energy to the federal space. Kim sits on the board for Women in Defense Michigan and speaks at industry conferences like WID National, HubZone, WIPP, ChallengeHER, and Michigan Defense Expo, talking about what they need to hear—crisis communication and finding your brand, without revealing government secrets.

Kim advocates for voices that are being ignored as a board member at the Small Business Association of Michigan, running their Women’s Entrepreneurial Fellowship for second-stage businesses. She is also a chair on the Leadership Advisory Council for Women Impacting Public Policy (and somehow still finds time for her ever-growing pack of rescue dogs).

She works in, on, and for the industry because watching from the sidelines doesn’t bring real change. Kim finds comfort in the uncomfortable, so much so that she tattooed it on her body. Don’t believe us? Find her in person and ask.
