Bio

Lisa Finneran is the Vice President of Engineering for General Dynamics Mission Systems. She is proud to lead nearly 6,000 engineers across more than 100 major national and international sites as they create mission-critical solutions to those who lead, serve and protect the world in which we live.

Before taking on her current role in August 2018, Ms. Finneran was the Vice President of Strategic Systems and provided strategic warfare system solutions to the U.S. Navy, U.K. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. In this role, she managed the design, production, execution and modernization of the systems that control the deployment of both submarine-launched and U.S. Air Force ballistic missiles.

Previously, Ms. Finneran served as the Director of the Mission and Strategic Systems business segment and Director of Engineering for General Dynamics Maritime Digital Systems. Prior to joining General Dynamics, she held several leadership roles at the Software Productivity Consortium.

Ms. Finneran holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Virginia Tech. She is the chair of General Dynamics’ Engineering and Technology Council and an expert reviewer for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Computer Software Technology Conference.

Additionally, Ms. Finneran is a member of Virginia Tech’s National Capital Region Leadership Council, Virginia Tech Computer Science Advisory Board, Virginia Tech National Security Institute, the Board of Regents for the Strategic Deterrent Coalition and the Society of Women Engineers. She is also a champion for education that closes the STEM-skills gap, mentors the next generation of women engineers and engineering leaders, and supports advances in breast cancer research.
