Valerie Hunter is vice president of human resources and administration for the Intelligence & Security (I&S) sector of BAE Systems, Inc. I&S is comprised of approximately 6,000 employees located across the United States and abroad with annual revenues of $1.7 billion. The sector is a trusted systems integrator that provides large-scale engineering and sustainment services across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains for the U.S. Department of Defense, intelligence community, federal civilian agencies, and troops deployed around the world.

Valerie is committed to making I&S a diverse and inclusive place to work, where all employees are encouraged to pursue their professional goals through development and leadership in order to fulfill their greatest potential. She leads the sector’s human capital strategy focusing on employee engagement, attraction and retention initiatives. She also leads the I&S Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) team that is critical to ensuring all employees have a safe work environment.

Valerie has been with BAE Systems, Inc., for four years. Prior to becoming vice president of human resources and administration for I&S, she served as the director of human resources for the Air Force Solutions (AFS) business area in I&S.

Valerie has over 25 years of human resource experience, including 10 years at Northrop Grumman Information Systems, where she led the human resources teams in the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Division, the Ground Combat Systems Business Unit, and the Health IT Program Business Unit, providing human resource leadership and guidance for domestic and international stakeholder groups. Prior to Northrop Grumman, Valerie worked at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Tennessee and U.S. Airways. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and an M.A. in Human Resources Management from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM-SCP.
